Junior Database Administrator

Open Lending is seeking a Junior DBA that will thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment. In this role, you will be responsible for applying industry best practices to database management and be a key player in the modernization of our database ecosystem.

Day-to-Day duties would include:

• Administer MySQL, MS SQL Server, and NoSQL databases in Azure or on-premises
• Administer MS SQL Server data warehouse in Azure
• Monitor health and performance of all databases
• Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
• Implement required security measures to protect data (e.g., encryption at rest and in transit)
• Apply new patches and version upgrades, following best practices for change management
• Tune SQL queries and optimize database performance
• Test database disaster recovery procedures
• Support application testing and facilitate deployment of database changes to production
• Document and follow database policies, standards, and procedures

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 1-3 years’ experience as a MySQL or MS SQL DBA (certifications a plus)
• Proficient in writing SQL Queries
• Experience with Linux and Windows Server
• Familiarity with Linux, Python, or Powershell scripting
• Familiarity with data warehousing
• Strong enthusiasm for learning
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
