Job Title: Product Security Specialist

Working Pattern: Fulltime

Working location: Indianapolis, IN

In this role, your focus will be on helping to secure the Rolls-Royce products against an increasingly diverse and complex range of threats.  You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team, looked towards as an expert and mentor in this field, working together to tackle technical challenges in a stimulating and collaborative environment.

What you will be doing

With this attractive opportunity you will get a chance to:

  • Collaborate with government and commercial clients, our supply-chain, and industry experts to enhance cyber security capability and tools for Rolls-Royce programs.
  • Plan the system security work scope for programs to deliver customer requirements, including task planning, resource forecasting, and product lifecycle deliverables.
  • Act as a technical specialist in system security engineering/product cyber security, applying technical knowledge and providing technical direction as required.
  • Develop and drive cyber security best practices in our product design and development infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with the business’ cyber security capability team to improve the techniques, policies, procedures and knowledge to enable us to implement best practices across the business.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems) with 5+ years experience, or
  • Masters degree in STEM discipline with experience in a relevant engineering environment (Electrical, Software, Controls, Systems) with 3+ years experience, or
  • JD/PhD
  • To be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred Requirements:

  • Some knowledge of embedded systems and the technical skills required to develop, implement and secure such systems
  • Experience or interest in cyber security and cyber threats (e.g. experience of: designing secure networks, systems and applications; intrusion detection; product forensics; disaster recovery; risk assessment tools and methods, end-point security solutions; security policies, standards and procedures, etc.)
  • Desire to mentor and educate other members of the team on system security to positively impact individuals as well as the broader team
  • An interest in novel and emerging technology solutions and how they might be used to enhance cyber security
  • Outcome-focused, with good problem-solving abilities, including an aptitude for finding practical solutions to complex technical problems
  • Able to work with a high degree of autonomy, across ambiguous or complex areas.
