Director, CI/CD Program Management (6-Month Temporary Assignment)

How will you make an impact in this role?

American Express Enterprise Cloud provides modern developer enablement platforms that empower teams to ship early, ship often, and ship securely. Our offerings include Platform-as-a-Service, Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Database-as-a-Service, and enterprise CI/CD capabilities used by thousands of engineers across the company.

This temporary Director role will lead strategic programs across the CI/CD function, with a focus on:

  • BI & Collaboration Tooling Ownership – overseeing the engineering operations and roadmap for tools like Jira, Confluence, CI/CD Platform Business Insights (BI) and related platforms that enable collaboration and delivery reporting.
  • Atlassian Cloud Migration Initiative – driving the program to migrate from Data Center to Atlassian Cloud for Jira and Confluence.
  • CI/CD Solutions & Servicing Leadership – ensuring resilient, frictionless CI/CD tooling end user support to continue enabling global developer productivity.
  • Technology Risk & Compliance Program Management – managing CI/CD related risk, resiliency, and control programs in partnership with Enterprise Cloud & Global Infrastructure Risk, and Product teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a matrixed team of program and engineering leads to deliver key outcomes for CI/CD platforms and related collaboration tools.
  • Oversee planning and execution of the Atlassian Cloud migration, including stakeholder engagement, risk management, change enablement, and delivery.
  • Manage the BI & Collaboration tooling portfolio, ensuring availability, compliance, product delivery and effective user experience.
  • Drive continuous improvement across CI/CD product delivery, balancing speed, reliability, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with peer engineering and platform teams across global locations (US, UK & India) to ensure alignment and operational excellence.
  • Represent the CI/CD organization in risk and audit forums, ensuring proactive mitigation of technology and operational risks.
  • Develop and maintain transparent communication with senior leadership on progress, metrics, and dependencies across initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in technology program manageme
