Position Highlights:

• Position: Retail Pharmacy Tech
• Location: Edward Hospital
• Full Time
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

What you will need:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure
• Pharmacy Tech Certification Highly preferred or
• OR One of the following must be met:
• Current Pharmacy Technician Certification or must obtain CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) within 270 days of start date into position,
• or Successfully passed the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) examination pending certification,
• or Current Pharmacy Technician license with “Student” designation issued by the State of Illinois

Preferred:

• Minimum of one year of Pharmacy Experience as a Pharmacy Technician

A Brief Overview:

This position assists the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the mediation inventory, and maintaining the patient and pharmacy records in a manner that is consistent with all state and federal laws and regulations  The retail pharmacy technician assists in the delivery of medications to patients at discharge from the inpatient hospital utilizing the Medpoint prescription delivery program (Meds-to-Beds).  Pharmacy technician activities are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
