Position Summary

The Director, Global Compensation is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and administration of global compensation programs, including commercial compensation. This role provides direction and oversight to ensure competitive, equitable, and compliant compensation practices across the organization. The Director collaborates with HR, Finance, and business leaders to align compensation programs with organizational goals and market trends. This position is pivotal in driving the company's talent attraction, retention, and motivation efforts.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
These may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute global compensation programs that support business objectives and enhance employee engagement.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in compensation management and related programs.
  • Conduct market research and benchmarking analysis to ensure competitive compensation structures to align with business growth
  • Design and manage global compensation programs, including base pay, incentives, equity, and commercial compensation.
  • Develop and manage compensation programs for commercial teams, including sales incentives, commission structures, and performance-based rewards. Ensure alignment with commercial goals and market competitiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international compensation regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee compensation data integrity, analytics, and reporting to support decision-making and accurate execution.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, and business leaders to address compensation-related changes, issues and provide guidance accordingly.
  • Develop communication materials and conduct training sessions to educate employees and managers on compensation programs.
  • Manage and coach direct reports and provide career development opportunities in support of their individual development plans.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in compensation management, with a minimum of 5 years in a global role.
  • A minimum of 8 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with global compensation practices, regulations, and trends.
  • Experience with compensation software like MarketPay and BetterComp and Workday Advanced Compensation Planning module.
  • Experience with Commercial Compensation in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences Industry.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to present and interact with various internal and external audiences.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Workday to manage employee data, generate reports, and support HR processes.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships leading to trust and credibility across all employee levels and demonstrate strong relationships within HR team peers.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (10+ years of experience with a master’s degree).
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
