About the Role
Are you passionate about government relations and want to make a significant impact on Babcock’s strategy across Australasia? We are looking for a Government Relations Adviser/ specialist to join our Stakeholder Engagement and Reputation team, where you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our relationships with government stakeholders and supporting key business campaigns.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for developing and nurturing strong relationships with local, state, and federal government, as well as diplomatic missions and internal stakeholders. You’ll have the opportunity to help drive Babcock’s government engagement strategy, enhancing our visibility and influence at local, regional, and national levels. Your work will directly support Babcock’s growth ambitions and strengthen our brand and reputation across the region.
You will collaborate closely with teams in Australasia and internationally, ensuring our approach is aligned and effective. From advising on government policy and regulatory matters to identifying funding opportunities, you will be at the forefront of advancing Babcock’s interests. You will also play a critical role in developing strategies to position Babcock for future government funding initiatives, contributing to the continued success and expansion of our business.

To be successful, you will bring:
- Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in building and managing stakeholder relationships especially with Members of Parliament, Government departments and agencies and local government.
- Project management experience and ability to be self-organised and adaptable to effectively prioritise multiple concurrent projects and work within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in understanding and responding to relevant key government policy and legislative reform.
- Previous experience in the Defence, National Security or Foreign Affairs and trade sector (Desirable).
