About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Advisor Platform Technology team within Wealth & Investment Management. We are seeking an experienced full-stack developer who will lead strategic initiatives for the Advisor Platform Group to drive a best-in-class Financial Advisor experience. In this role you will lead initiatives starting from the evaluation of complex business requirements to design, coding, and testing of solutions, while utilizing a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs. You will be empowered to always take the initiative, propose ideas, and innovate to enable modernization and Cloud adoption.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large-scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines

  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

  • Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • 5+ years of Java and Spring Framework for back-end development

  • 5+ years of Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing

  • 5+ years of build tools such as Maven or Gradle

  • 5+ years of code quality tools like SonarQube

  • 3+ years of ReactJS or Angular/Typescript for front-end development

  • 3+ years of containerization experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift


Desired Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Cloud (AWS Solution Architect, Azure)

  • 2+ years of Agile methodology experience and version control systems such as GIT

  • 2+ Azure or Openshift Container Platform; Cloud Development / Deployment experience

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
