Job Description

The Sr. BI Engineer, Internal AI & Data Science Practice, will be responsible for developing automated, scalable, and client-facing dashboards.  We are looking for candidates with a proven history of developing BI dashboards, with strong proficiency in SQL, other programming languages in a Big Data environment, and data visualization tools.

• Provide technical leadership in a team that generates business insights based on big data, identify actionable recommendations, and communicate the findings to clients
• Organize and manage multiple business intelligence projects catering to diverse cross-functional stakeholders
• Work collaboratively with Data Scientists, Data Engineer, Software Engineers and cross-functional partners to design and deploy Visa dashboards and related products
• Develop and maintain automated ETL pipelines using tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, Python, or HIVE to support internal reporting and ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
• Expert with data visualization using Tableau, Power BI or similar tools
• Utilize Visa's data analytics capabilities, technology, and industry expertise to develop, standardize, and implement a streamlined BI architecture
• Participate in business requirements gathering, effort sizing, architecture planning and front-end designing of dashboards
• Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to quickly propose feasible solutions and effectively communicate strategy and risk mitigation approaches to leadership.
• Define and build technical/data documentation and experience with code version control systems (for e.g., git). Ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency
• Work with internal/external clients to understand their BI related requirements, and lead project scoping/design to provide solutions by leveraging Visa’s data
• Participate in business requirements gathering, effort sizing, architecture planning and front-end designing of dashboards
• Provide operational monthly production support
• Communicate complex concepts and the results of the analyses in a clear and effective manner

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6-8 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 4-6 years of work
• experience with an advanced degree (e.g. Master’s, MBA, JD, MD), or 3 years of
• experience with a PhD
• Experience managing business intelligence projects from scoping to delivery,
• and engaging with internal/external stakeholders
• Experience in dashboard development and design using data visualization tools, preferably Tableau, is required
• Experience building and maintaining ETL processes in Hadoop, including data quality and testing
• Advanced knowledge of SQL with experience in Python, Spark, and exposure to scheduling tools like Apache Airflow
• Ability to communicate data-driven insights and convey actionable recommendations
• Experience working in an Agile or fast-paced and dynamic environment is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Visa experience or knowledge of payments industry is a plus, but not mandatory

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
