Job Summary:

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking to hire a Clinical Laboratory Associate (CLA) 3, whom will report to the Supervisor of Pathology Support in the Clinical Laboratory Services (CLS) diagnostic Reference SendOuts laboratories, and whom will have responsibility for triaging and processing advanced specimens independently. The CLA 3 works closely with all laboratory staff, medical staff, and external customers. Additional responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, as well as, packing and shipping of laboratory specimens to be sent out to referring laboratories.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Receives and triages advanced specimens.
• Prepares specimens and patient materials for shipping.
• Provides advanced clerical support and customer service.
• The responsibilities listed are a general overview of the position and additional duties may be assigned.

Position Shift:
• VUMC, Client Lab Services, SendOuts, Fulltime, 2nd Shift, 2pm-10:30pm CST, Monday-Friday, every 3rd weekend and holidays rotations
