In the role of Corporate Environmental Manager working in Milwaukee, WI you will be part of the Environmental, Health, & Safety Team. You will lead and be responsible for environmental compliance strategy, programs, and systems for the Americas. Owns “E” in the Americas EHS Program and Pillar, driving continuous improvement in compliance programs, culture and am environmental sustainability mindset. Provides collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving to resolve and advise on environmental issues across Americas. Trains, educates, develops and supports Environmental/Sustainability Engineers, EHS Managers and others with environmental compliance responsibilities across the Americas on environmental laws and regulations and corporate standards, tools and systems. Educates environmental and operational leaders and personnel across the Americas to improve environmental compliance and operations to reduce risk of environmental incidents, penalties and harm.
This position reports to the Americas EHS Director and works closely with cross functional departments and teams within Supply Chain.
What You’ll Be Brewing:
- Create and maintain Environmental policies, standards and procedures for air, water, wastewater, waste, hazardous materials, chemical reporting, etc., updating same in response to regulatory changes
- Responsible for Americas-wide consistent adoption and implementation of the Americas EHS Environmental program; and oversees the Americas environmental data management systems. This includes responsibility for Environmental Sustainability strategies, policies, standards and procedures related to waste management and recycling for Americas facilities.
- This role engages with the Corporate Sustainability Team and the Corporate Tech Services Utilities & Sustainability Team on environmental sustainability initiatives (e.g., water, waste) and partners with Community Affairs on Our Imprint Month and other external facing employee engagement activities focused on the environment.
- Owns the environmental compliance auditing program across the Americas: manages and performs EHS Audits across the Americas to ensure manufacturing, craft and elevator sites are meeting regulatory and corporate requirements; drives effective and consistent closure of findings and improves Americas Environmental program based on findings and themes; and leads through influence to ensure site plans close gaps and drive progress.
- Owns the "E" in the Americas EHS Program and WCSC EHS Pillar, driving continuous improvement in compliance programs, culture and an environmental sustainability mindset: coaches sites for all Environmental-related aspects of EHS Pillar and WCSC initiatives; integrates environmental compliance programs and performance with WCSC principles; performs EHS Pillar Health Checks and Phase Assessments; conducts Pillar training and WCSC onboarding training on the EHS Pillar; and owns all aspects of at least one EHS Pillar tool as well as Environmental specific tools and capability builds.
- Provides collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving to resolve and advise on environmental issues across the Americas: advises personnel and leaders regarding environmental compliance matters, engaging internal and external legal consultants and counsel as appropriate;
- Provides quality assurance on environmental incident investigations and ensures proper root cause analysis and corrective measures are in place; audits corrective measure effectiveness during site visits; provides guidance and advice on environmental incidents, serious environmental incidents and critical environmental incidents.
