Job Description:

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The postdoc will divide their time between two projects. For the NIH project, they will be responsible for developing mitochondrial DNA editing tools, establishing disease models, and characterizing mutants. For the industry-sponsored project, they will develop a novel platform for the continuous evolution of yeast strains using base editing technologies.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in biochemical engineering or related field. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in developing genetic manipulation tools for non-model yeast species.

  • Experience in genome editing and microbial fermentation technologies.
