About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Accounting Director to oversee financial accounting and reporting activities for our operations in the Americas region, and to lead divisional initiatives to support the Corporate Controller. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with extensive knowledge of corporate accounting principles, regulatory requirements, and financial reporting standards. They will play a critical role in ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance within the organization's financial operations, and have the professional business acumen to be a trusted advisor.

The Corporate Accounting Director will coordinate a diverse set of functions and responsibilities which, in addition to ensuring the company’s financial activities are optimized, will play a key role in financial reporting and help optimize the financial strategy of the organization.

  • Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and company policies. Ensure timely and accurate reporting for the Americas region to senior management.
  • Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, laws, and regulations. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to support audits and reviews.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks and work with Internal Controls team to implement appropriate controls to mitigate them. Develop and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Finance Strategy: Provide insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other regional and corporate departments, including FP&A, Tax, Legal, and Operations, to support business initiatives and address accounting-related matters.
  • Team Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team with a culture that lives up to CSI’s values. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to foster professional growth and ensure team effectiveness.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate accounting processes and systems to identify opportunities for improvement, both regionally and globally. Drive efficiency initiatives and streamline workflows to enhance productivity and accuracy.
  • Special Projects: Lead or participate in special projects as assigned, such as system implementations, acquisitions, and restructuring activities.
  • Will be part of the finance team working on select M&A transactions, from valuation modelling to coordinating functions within finance and liaising with the rest of the organization during the M&A process and throughout the integration period.

Travel: 

  • Travel less than 20% domestically and internationally.

+15 years of progressive accounting experience.

  • Preferred - CPA license.
  • Strong business acumen in a fast-paced environment; collaboration across levels.
  • Experience with ERP Systems, i.e., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft suite of products to include Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross functionally to achieve desired results.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional scepticism.
  • Functional knowledge of financial reporting systems and methodologies. Previous experience in financial system implementations is beneficial.
  • M&A: the successful candidate should possess thoughtful financial modelling capabilities, including valuation, pro-forma financial modeling and discounted cash flow methodologies.
