POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fleet Mechanic position performs basic safety inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostic checks, and repair work on company automotive equipment and machinery.  This individual will assist the Fleet Manager with special projects as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:                                   

  • Conduct routine operational and preventive maintenance checks related to maintenance and repair of automotive and grounds equipment and facilities to include inspecting, testing, cleaning, lubricating, and as necessary, repairing or replacing defective parts of trucks, tractors, automotive and lawn care equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of equipment supplies and materials. Follow a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance and safety inspections on assigned equipment. 
  • Perform any other duties (to include special projects) within the assigned areas as deemed necessary by Fleet Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Must have computer proficiency required to operate diagnostic scanners, etc.
  • Basic degree of proficiency trouble shooting automotive and equipment failures - we can train
  • Must be able to work in an efficient manner, consolidating motions and activities to expedite repair/inspection processes.
  • Comfortable using common auto-maintenance tools.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid Driver license.
