About the role

SUMMARY 

The Budget & Forecast Manager is responsible for helping to drive revenue, identify cost savings, and maximize net contribution. The role will also review, analyze, and report on business performance, identify issues and trends, and recommend strategic solutions to leadership. This role will proactively anticipate the needs of leadership and provide relevant information that assists with business decisions.

 

This position is a shared service, designed to direct and oversee the financial components of assigned product lines and is responsible for gathering and analyzing business intelligence to drive product development, revenue; and delivery of new business opportunities through exploration and acceptance; oversight of forecast/budgeting and expense management to generate profits to support The IIA’s initiatives. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: 

  • Actively manage the financial performance of assigned product lines to achieve revenue targets, control expenditures, and forecast financial performance as compared with approved budgets. 
  • Oversight and communication of budget and forecast activities. Requires working directly with product owners, and other departments such as sales, marketing, and global etc. to identify trends and cost components to accurately forecast revenues and expenses.
  • Take ownership of the P&L for the assigned product lines to ensure timely and accurate trend and impact analysis is communicated to the internal stakeholders.
  • Develop the annual budget. Creates and recommends budget scenarios to ensure assumptions are correct.
  • Review product pricing and recommend innovative and competitive pricing models. 
  • Responsible for the compilation of relevant data used for business analysis, planning, decision-making, and product line optimization. This includes monthly and quarterly reporting and dashboard for the Senior Vice Presidents. 
  • Ensure data integrity of all elements of the product line. 
  • Make recommendations on product trends and leads efforts to control expenses. 
  • Prepare timely and actionable analyses, forecasts and recommendations for assigned projects to ensure achievement of business objectives. 
  • Responsible for ongoing communications, presentations and reports to appropriate IIA business units, Executive Leadership Team, and other stakeholders regarding project status, emerging trends, business opportunities and other initiatives. 
  • Recommend and implement process improvements as needed. 
  • Partner with marketing team related to messaging and collateral needed to drive financial results. 

 

Additional Duties

  • Special projects as assigned.
  • Some domestic travel may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent, preferably in management, business, or other related field and seven to ten years’ experience in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting. Internal audit, marketing, and adult learning experience is a plus. Strong relation
