Job Description

Job Duties

Reports to the Senior Vice President, NBCU Corporate Events

  • Research, develop, manage, and execute special events for all NBCUniversal properties, both nationally and internationally
  • Negotiate contracts pertaining to event accommodations, entertainment venues, activities, and transportation
  • Lead creative ideation, design and installation of décor and floor plans, as well as event branding
  • Manage guest invitation/communication process and travel procurement for each assigned event
  • Own responsibility and accountability for event budgets and reconciliation
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to create custom events and promotions for advertising partners
  • Generate and research new event ideas and opportunities for the sales staff and advertising clients
  • Develop relationships with vendors, including hotels, restaurants, and transportation companies, to secure best possible rates and opportunities
  • Maintain working knowledge of industry trends, as well as up-to-date information on new hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs
  • Work closely with merchandise director to develop unique and premium ideas for events and NBC merchandise

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in corporate event planning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Extremely detail-oriented, with strong organizational, multi-tasking, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • High energy in times of event planning and execution
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, and executive presence

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY
  • Must be willing to travel at least 40% of the year
  • Must be willing to work long hours and weekends
  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week
