The mission of the Project Manager – Store Operations is simple: make things as simple and easy as possible for stores to be successful. The Project Manager is the driving force ensuring the store is supported for all tactical needs for new store openings, remodels/refreshes, and closures. The project manager also digs in on implementation for other cross-brand store related projects that may be related to store technology, back of house operations, and physical inventory. All projects must be managed with a keen eye for both individual store needs as well as creating processes and systems that ensure the success of the fleet of stores.
Essential Functions: The nuts and bolts
Manage complex iterative projects using existing playbooks and optimizing for future applications based on feedback and learnings, ensuring major project activities, milestones and deliverables are planned and tracked and progress is accurately communicated
Be the expert on store processes – both the primary process and exception processes – to be able to quickly identify problems, priority, and risk
Communicate clearly and frequently to both store and cross-functional audiences, effectively translating between very different vantage points to get to effective solutions
Identify operational issues and research root-causes to develop and implement enhancements
Develop reporting for management to identify operational needs and trends; provide summaries for business and action plans
Partner with brand store operations teams to integrate specific project needs and deliverables with day-to-day brand store operations
Maintain high level of service to internal and external customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: What you need to apply
Excellent communication skills including the ability to listen to and hear what is being communicated to you and articulate accurately in writing and verbal communication to others
Good Excel skills and data-based approach to problem solving
Ability to prioritize and modulate actions in alignment with priority
Be able to adapt communication message, ideas, and questions for all audiences – senior leaders, cross functional partners, team members, and stores
Ability to effectively document processes and progress within processes
Strong competencies in planning, project management, and organization with the ability to lead multiple projects while maintaining a focus on quality
1-2 years of Retail Operations (single- or multi-store) experience required; WSI store experience is a plus
If PMP certification is acquired, the department would be open to 6 months - 1 year of retail store experience as a requirement
