SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES, INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
The Fugitive Investigative Support (FIS) Sub-Directorate assists member countries in the location and apprehension of fugitives, through a number of initiatives, including the provision of operational support, focused projects, operational working groups, conferences and training initiatives. FIS also cooperates with international Courts and Tribunals, national entities and other international organizations, to support searches for individuals wanted for genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity. The Assistnat Director FIS will manage the team in order to maintain and expand a network of experts in fugitive investigations as well as to share of best practices and innovative techniques and to provide specialized training to build capacity in fugitive investigations, including the tracking of Genocide, Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes perpetrators at large.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES
Duty 1
Define, plan, and implement the activities and policies of the Sub-Directorate so that the component parts of the Sub-Directorate will, through well-led and managed projects, provide quality, up-to-date specialized operational police support and maintain an in-depth knowledge covering a wide range and scope of important of police matters, including training and investigative support to INTERPOL's member countries on specific high profile crime areas, as well as operational and administrative services for their regional and national crime fighting activities as required;
Duty 2
Initiate, coordinate, and ensure that the Sub-Directorate will, in a timely manner, identify existing and emerging database and data processing related issues and provide managed project-based solutions for the international law enforcement community and establish regular status reports of the Sub-Directorate’s activities for the Director and regular reporting on the outcomes of projects to senior management;
