Summary

CHS Inc has an exciting opportunity for an Ag Retail Strategy and Development Analyst.  This position will engage and communicate with producer board members to promote and ensure advocacy, alignment and support for the growth and continuous improvement initiatives of the organization. This role is a critical point of contact for producer boards within the Ag Retail segment. Supports the Ag Retail & Distribution leadership team in business development strategies and project execution. You will work closely with Ag Business & enterprise strategy teams to identify new business growth opportunities that create long-term value for CHS’s owners and customers.

Responsibilities

Lead producer boards and local leadership through strategic planning sessions focused on aligning local and CHS enterprise strategies. 

  • Effectively communicate the CHS enterprise & Ag Retail product line strategies to local producer boards.
  • Work with Ag retail business units to identify strategies to achieve profitable growth.
  • Find opportunities to drive efficiency and optimize operations and asset portfolio within the given geography to optimize customer experience by meeting the needs of local producers.
  • Influence across boundaries to ensure alignment & collaboration across product lines and functions including trading, sales, operations. 

Drive a focused effort on engagement, alignment and communication with local producer boards. 

  • Ensure enhanced content development for the quarterly Producer Board inform. 
  • Educate and engages producer board members on Enterprise initiatives.
  • Create greater connections between local board members/leadership and key leadership within the Enterprise and Ag Retail & Distribution.
  • Drive consistency across Ag Retail business units for board meeting processes and content.
  • Work with internal resources to develop & implement learning and development opportunities for producer board members.
  • Ensure a continuous feedback loop between the producer board members, local leadership and the CHS Enterprise.

Lead the discovery of synergies and optimization opportunities within potential internal consolidations of business units and facilitate producer board interactions/discussions with local management.

Lead the development of networking/engagement/educational opportunities (i.e., conferences, site tours, etc) for producer board members to deepen their connection to and advocacy for CHS.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

 

  • 7+ years’ experience in business development, and/or strategic planning
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication & relationship building skills, including presenting, facilitating, influencing, and handling crucial conversations.
  • Ability to lead change management initiatives including changes to business processes, systems and technology, job roles and organization structures.
  • Adept in creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance, driving faster adoption, higher ultimate use of and proficiency with the changes that impact employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and understand complex documents to lead/facilitate strategic conversations, make strategic decisions and recommendations to boards of directors and management teams.
  • Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Remote position with ability to travel 30%-50% 

Additional Qualifications

  • 4-year college degree in business or agricultural science
  • Prior experience in the Ag industry and/or cooperative model
