About the role

The Amplify Team is looking for a Software Engineer II. This team is responsible for deploying and operating services that enable Microsoft 365 Admin Center to sovereign and air gapped clouds.      

 

Microsoft 365 Admin Center provides customer tenant administration that allows customers to tailor their Microsoft 365 service experience for their organizationsWe are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to add to our team supporting the US Government environments where the Microsoft 365 Admin Center is deployedIn this role, you will have the opportunity to work with engineers who deliver world class solutions to private and US Government sector customers using Microsoft 365 in their organizations. The systems and software you build will be required to meet the security policy and assurance requirements of both public and private sector customers.

Responsibilities

  • Design, produce and deliver software to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, security, efficiency, etc. of a service, having independence, sense of ownership and drive for areas of ownership. 
  • Participate actively in code reviews, bug/issue triage with the feature teams, and support well informed decisions towards business and engineering goals. 
  • Contribute to fixing, enhancing, and supporting our services in production, including periodic on-call duties where necessary. 
  • Ensure that design empowers other developers to achieve more, while effectively leveraging components developed by other teams. 
  • Drive features, projects, and open-ended problems towards resolution. 
  • Take initiative to identify and fix bottlenecks, proactively come up with the proposals for further improvements of the system, process and owned functionality. 
  • Contribute to operations of live service. Implements solutions and mitigations to more complex issues impacting performance or functionality of Live Site service and escalates as necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

  • Security Clearance Requirements: Candidates must be able to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
    • Candidates must have an active  Top Secret  and be willing to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph). This role will require candidates to maintain the TS/SCI (with polygraph) clearance. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
    • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
