Job Summary:

The Division of Critical Care Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Critical Care Physician to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a strong track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions.

  • This position is full or part-time, 50%-100%

  • This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location.

  • This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

  • Applicants for this position will be considered for the titles: Assistant Professor (CHS). The title is determined by the experience and qualifications of the finalist.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health (applicable to Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track)). An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Teach to a variety of learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows. Teaching can occur within the classroom, small groups, and lectures, as well as in the delivery of clinical care

Provide clinical coverage of general pediatric critical care patients and/or cardiac critical care patients depending on training and experience.

Carry out independent research/scholarly activity in an area of interest (CHS Track only)

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 230 faculty members in 16 subspecialty divisions. The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine is made up of highly motivated faculty members with a wide range of academic and clinical interests, including simulation education, transport medicine, sedation, resuscitation, extracorporeal support, cardiac- and neuro-critical care, quality improvement, telemedicine, non-invasive monitoring, machine learning models, and translational research in acquired brain injury and cardiopulmonary physiology. Division members are nationally recognized experts in research and program development and hold numerous local and national leadership roles associated with these programs. Division faculty provide clinical services in the American Family Children’s Hospital Pediatric ICU and Sedation Clinic and train the next generation of critical care physicians through the Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Program.
