Summary
The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Coordinator Senior leads the planning, coordination and scheduling of moderate to highly complex maintenance and replacement activities within the electric distribution system. Ensures all maintenance projects, including emergent repairs, system upgrades and capital replacements are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. In addition to overseeing material readiness, scheduling and field preparation, the O&M Coordinator Senior provides mentorship and guidance to O&M Associates and Coordinators. Collaborates with the Construction Maintenance Planner to support manpower, resources, budgets and stakeholder communications, ensuring seamless execution of day-of-work activities and long-term operational success.
Note: Approximately 10% of time spent on creating detailed work packages and 90% is focused on planning and coordinating day-of-execution activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Construction Management or other job-related field from an accredited college or university plus five (5) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
- Or, Associates degree plus seven (7) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
- Or, high school diploma/GED plus nine (9) years experience in construction management, maintenance, project management, customer facing roles involving scope definition, timeline coordination, budget management and stakeholder engagement and/or other job-related fields.
- Valid Arizona Drivers License.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
- Experience in Construction and/or maintenance operations.
- Experience with customer interface, ability to adapt/respond to a variety of stakeholders, manage complaints, negotiation skills, and problem solving.
- Business, planning, and project management skills.
- Computer skills: Windows, Word Excel, CC&B, GIS, and work order management programs such as Maximo and Primavera. Proficiency in the application of PC skills and programs for data management and project scheduling as well as the analytical ability to evaluate the interdependent relationship of project variables.
- Basic electricity course and drafting/CAD experience.
- Successful completion of college Algebra.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills.
Major Accountabilities
1) Successfully completes the APS Customer Project Training, including on-the-job training (OJT).
2) Leads moderate to highly complex maintenance and replacement projects from initiation through close-out. Priorities and schedules preventative and corrective maintenance, emergent repairs and infrastructure replacements. Assesses equipment and system performance to identify and plan maintenance needs. Performs field checks to validate constructability, resource readiness and execution plans. Collaborates with Planners, Foremen, Troublemen and Engineers to handle technical aspects. Oversees day-of-execution planning, ensure crews have the necessary resources, materials and clearances.
3) Creates detailed work packages for complex jobs, including labor, materials, equipment and safety protocols.
