Senior Cloud Storage Engineer

Our Product team at Constant is looking for a Senior Cloud Storage Engineer who will report into the Senior Manager, Cloud Storage and you will help refine and manage our Ceph-based object and block storage products. The ideal candidate will also liaise with our deployment operations team to plan and execute the deployment of hardware. What you will take on:

• Monitor existing Cloud Storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability of our services
• Coordinate with Network and Operations teams for capacity expansion and maintenance windows
• Develop automation improvements for our Ceph-based Cloud Storage infrastructure
• Improve upon our existing metrics collection and alerting systems
• Evaluate new technologies, advance storage features and new operational methodology to drive efficiency and effectiveness
• Contribute to our internal documentation and knowledge base
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as collaborate with team members and project stakeholders
• Strong and effective communication skills
• Participate in an On-Call rotation

Our new team member will need:

• Fluent in Linux (CentOS/RHEL/Debian/Ubuntu)
• 6+ years and extensive experience configuring, deploying, and managing distributed systems
• Hands on experience with cloud hosting, object storage, and block storage concepts
• Experience with performance tuning in virtualized environments
• Experience with developing object or block storage is required
• Solid experience with open source storage technologies like Ceph or MINIO or Software Defined Storage
• Experience in developing RESTful API and services
• Programming proficiency in high level languages such as C, C++, Python
• Knowledge of server hardware including IPMI and storage drives (SATA, NVMe)
• Strong automating and scripting experience (Bash/PHP/etc)
• Hands on experience with automation tools (Puppet/Ansible/Chef/Salt/etc)
• Proficiency with the following: Experience with logging, metrics, and time series: Prometheus, collectd, ELK, Grafana, Graylog, Graphite, etc. a plus

Salary Range: $65k - 125k

This salary can vary based on location, years of experience, background and skill set.
