Developer 3, Systems Software sought by Merastar Insurance Company in Birmingham, AL. 40 hrs./wk. Duties include: Provide tech. consulting & support for app. software development or computing techs.. Develop, document, & execute unit test cases. Resolve complex tech. problems apps. & work processes.  Review & recommend test plans for impacted areas & test coverage. Recommend improvements to existing processes or propose new ones, to improve quality of project deliverables. Perform code & design reviews. Consult with customers on utilization of apps computing techs. Lead projects within specified tech disciplines; plan for resources needed. Develop tech. knowledge & performance skills of IS projects teams. Recommend new technologies. Support proof-of-concept activities. Develop technical specs, design documents, functional designs & requirements. Remote work / telecommuting benefits available - Hybrid position. Must come into office for meetings as needed. MIN REQ: Bach. degree, or foreign equiv., in Info. Tech. or related field. 5 yrs exp. req. in job offered. SPECIAL REQ: 5 yrs exp in: coding, unit testing & debugging business app; writing systems design specs for apps; tech. disciplines Tomcat, Java/Spring, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Angular, Hibernate, SQL, JSON/XML, REST Web Services, Git/SVN, & build tools; cloud development practices; frameworks & development tools; executing & supporting testing; agile &/or waterfall; using tech. controls, security concepts & SOX requirements. Up to 5% short-term domestic travel may be involved to attend industry conferences. The range for this position is $124,800 to $135,300.
