Job Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting and coordinating all production operations within assigned area(s). This position supports individual coaches to perform the functions of their jobs effectively and efficiently.

Job Description:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):

  • Coach and lead direct reports in teamwork and constant improvement initiatives
  • Ensures compliance with standard operational work practices; including E1 requirements to maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Delivers effective/interactive communications and activities to support positive morale
  • Provide the leadership to develop and maintain a safe workplace
  • Enforces quality standards; ensures product meets specifications
  • Oversee and ensure an efficient and cost-effective flow of product through the production system
  • Plans department(s) operations; establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products to meet schedule requirements
  • Works closely with the materials, logistics and quality leaders to ensure the quality and delivery of the product.
  • Trains and develops Coaching staff.

SCOPE & IMPACT: 

Responsibility for the successful output of 2500 - 5000 units per week driving approximately $100M in production value annually.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field along with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience or equivalent work experience.
  • Travel Required: Up to 10%

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Proven leadership track record leading large organizations
  • Experience in a manufacturing type environment as a leader or project manager over labor intensive, large volume operations
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9000:2000, Ergonomics, Advanced Maintenance Systems, Kaizen Events, VSM and Six Sigma
  • Six Sigma Certification
  • Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office software; understanding of enterprise systems, Oracle E1 preferred
  • Willing to perform limited travel and relocate if opportunities for advancement arise
  • Experience utilizing OEE, project management
  • Ability to collaborate with other leaders effectively both internally at the plant in addition to leaders at other sites
  • Experience with team environment and comfortable speaking with small or large groups
  • Must have high energy and a proven track record for developing and executing plans
  • Good understanding of Materials Management and Quality Systems
  • Proficient in financial systems and operational metrics

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May have up to 5 direct reports and approximately 20-150 indirect reports.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Operates in a professional office environment as well as within a manufacturing environment.
