YOUR ROLE
Responsible for assisting the Independent Contractor Relations Manager by maintaining the department’s database of Independent Contractor Relations complaints and investigations. Position will assist in the investigation of complaints regarding the contractual business relationship between the Company and the Contractors pursuant to the Independent Contractors Agreement (the “IC Agreement”) and ancillary memorandum and guidelines issued pursuant thereto. Position will also provide administrative support for expediting insurance needs for contract drivers to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policy. Models and acts in accordance with out guiding principles and core values.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
- Research and assist in the resolution of contractor issues and complaints made by the contractor, company employees, or a third party.
- Maintain the department’s database of Independent Contractor Relations complaints and investigations with current, concise and factual data.
- Ensure contractor relations issues are appropriately and equitably resolved in a timely manner, escalating to next level management as appropriate.
- Expedite insurance needs for contract drivers.
- File Certificates of Insurance for contract drivers.
- Communicate with outside agencies concerning contract drivers and contract drivers insurance needs.
- Assist with design of contract driver insurance training programs.
- Answer incoming calls, voicemails and e-mails.
- Assist Department Manager and Director as needed with contractor relations related projects.
- Maintain weekly status reports.
- Maintain tracking procedures relating to Contractor compliance under the IC Agreement including collection of all insurance certificates, placards/door sign return or certification of placard/door sign destruction.
- Assist in gathering of information for litigation request.
- Order, monitor and maintain the department’s office supplies.
- Review insurance related invoices for accuracy, code to appropriate station and cost center and process to ensure timely and accurate payment.
- Maintain check requests and processing procedures.
- Preparation of record retrieval for various company audits (including those performed by third party consultants).
- Make recommendations of website content as it relates to the IC Agreement.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
- High School Degree or GED required.
- Minimum three years related experience in similar role in transportation or supply chain related industry
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Languages and Communication Skills
- Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, customers and vendors.
Computer Skills
- PC literate.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and specific job related software applications.
Other Skills/Experience
- Knowledgeable in the administration of DOT Regulations.
- Knowledgeable of Independent Contractor Law (IRS, Workers Compensation, 49CFR376, etc.)
