Power Factors fights climate change with code.</span></p> <p><span> </span></p> <p><span>* Outside China and India </span></p> <p><br/></p> <p><span>ABOUT THE ROLE </span></p> <p><br/></p> <p><span><span>We are looking for a Senior Network Engineer </span>to design, implement, maintain, audit and support our growing network infrastructure which includes mainly installations in energy production plants and our cloud-based datacenters. You will be part of a team that is responsible for designing and implementing maintainable, secure and highly available network architectures that meet business objectives.</span><br/><br/></p> <p><span>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</span><br/></p> <p><br/></p> <ul> <li>Design the network for energy production plants, following security practices and standards, aiming for reliability, security, easy troubleshooting, maintainability.</li> <li>Design high availability, fault-tolerant, robust networks</li> <li>Providing expert level root cause analysis for issue troubleshooting.</li> <li>Provide reviews for client's topology drawings and design concepts.</li> <li>Draft and maintain service documentation and processes</li> <li>Work within established configuration and change management policies and tools</li> <li>Determine bottlenecks, enhance automation of repetitive tasks</li> <li>Work with other System Engineers to plan, design and improve business services<span></span></li> </ul> <p><span> <br/><span>REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:</span></span><br/></p> <p><br/></p> <p><span>We believe you enjoy working in a purpose driven organization and that you thrive in an environment where you need to find creative solutions to challenging problems in a fast-changing context. Specifically, we are looking for someone with the following toolbox:</span></p> <p><br/></p> <ul> <li><span>At least 5 years of network engineer experience</span></li> <li><span>Thorough understanding of the basic high-level Internet protocols (DNS, SMTP, HTTP, etc.)</span></li> <li><span>Understanding of authentication and authorization protocols and schemes</span></li> <li><span>Thorough understanding of networking Security, VLANs, IP Routing, VPN (SSL VPN, IPSEC)</span></li> <li><span>Solid understanding of the TCP/IP model</span></li> <li><span>Experience with equipment and network L2 redundancy options, protocols and topologies (MST, STP, LACP, PAGP, etc)</span></li> <li><span>Experience with Cisco stacking and its associated advantages</span></li> <li><span>Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools</span></li> <li><span>Have patience and good communication skills, ability to own a project and communicate directly with clients in English to complete project commissioning.</span></li> <li><span>At least 2 years of experience working in Linux</span></li> </ul> <p><span><span>Nice to have: </span></span></p> <ul> <li><span>Fortinet and Cisco certifications are preferred.</span></li> <li><span>Security certifications deemed a supplementary benefit</span></li> <li><span>Hands-on experience with Fortimanager will be considered  a plus</span></li> </ul> <p><br/><br/></p> <p><span><span>LIFE @ POWER FACTORS</span></span></p> <p><span> </span></p> <p><span>We are an agile software development company – big enough to make an impact, but small enough to move quickly and execute in a growing industry. We are a team of bold and ingenious talents driven by results. We are passionate about making the world a better place.
