The current hourly pay range for this position is:
Plant 2: $21.03 - $25.53
Plant 1: $21.31 - $22.90
Job Summary
The Production Operator will perform duties such as fusion, mills, loader, control room, and/or bagging for one of the two plants onsite.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Ensure completion of housekeeping duties within work area(s)
Operate fork truck, front end loader, sweeper, bobcat, track mobile, etc.
Operate stretch wrapper and banding equipment
Ensure bulk trucks and railcars are loaded properly, safely, and documented
Sweep / shovel material into a hopper
Obtain and analyze mill samples and final product samples by following laboratory testing procedures using various lab equipment
Operate bagging machines, packaging machines, and floor scales
Determine operating condition of bagging process equipment i.e. feed systems, dust collectors, conveyor systems, vacuum pumps, printers, stencils, scales, and forklifts.
Determines operating condition of bagging materials i.e. bags, pallets, inks, glues, and wraps
Produce orders according to customer requirements listed on master shipping sheets i.e. bag type and quantity, pallet type and quantity, stacking pattern, and bag markings while also assigning lot numbers
Identify and label lots and orders with appropriate test status sticker
Follow safety guidelines for propane and liquid oxygen systems
Follow safety guidelines with regard to voltage systems on furnaces up to 600 volts
Follow railroad safety rules and guidelines
Stack bags of material onto pallets
Load sand into kilns
Assist in maintenance of moving or stationary equipment
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment within work area
Perform daily area shift inspections
Follow safety codes and regulations
Skills and Attributes
Able to follow written instructions and standard operating procedures
Able to perform simple math
Education / Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED certificate
Valid driver’s license
