OBJECTIVE:

The Snowmobile Guide plays a key role in delivering memorable winter experiences to guests through guided snowmobile tours. This position involves leading individuals and small groups through scenic winter terrain in a safe, informative, and engaging manner. When not guiding, the Snowmobile Guide supports daily operations at the Activities Yurt, assists with gear fittings, ensures snowmobile maintenance, and promotes a high standard of guest service and safety across all winter activity areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead safe, professional, and entertaining guided snowmobile tours for guests of all skill levels
  • Provide instruction on snowmobile operation, safety protocols, and trail etiquette
  • Share interpretive knowledge of winter ecology, terrain features, and ranch history
  • Assist with outfitting guests in proper winter gear (helmets, suits, boots, gloves, etc.)
  • Inspect snowmobiles daily to ensure proper function and safety
  • Work directly with Maintenance on repairs and fleet management
  • Serve as an attendant in the Activities Yurt, offering guest support and information about winter activities
  • Uphold the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of snowmobile facilities and other activity spaces
  • Assist with guest check-in and activity reservations
  • Contribute to snow and trail maintenance, including signage, grooming support, and hazard identification
  • Provide shuttle services for guests as needed
  • Participate in emergency response, including first aid, vehicle recovery, and guest assistance
  • Support general winter Ranch Hand labor tasks such as:
  • Snow removal and pathway maintenance
  • Fire building and wood splitting
  • Equipment storage and transport
  • Cleaning and maintaining vehicles and gear

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all related duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous snowmobile operation experience
  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with small engines
  • CPR/First Aid or Wilderness First Responder certification
  • Knowledge of cold-weather safety and basic survival skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and guest service orientation

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 


The employee is required to walk, reach with hands, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally to lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
