Your Role at Baxter:
This Finance Senior Manager role is at the heart of Global FP&A and will lead and set the drumbeat across the finance organization in delivering an annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, monthly/quarterly results reviews and will be a key player in quarter-end external earnings analysis in conjunction with Investor Relations. This role will report to the Senior Finance Director, Global FP&A and will oversee one-to-two senior finance analysts.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Support the Senior Finance Director in leading the operational rhythm for annual operating plan by setting plan guidance for relevant matters each year to be shared with global finance & FP&A colleagues (300+ individuals)
- Run quarterly forecast cycles by setting clear communication and guidance on timelines, forecast considerations and partnering with systems & COEs to align on standardized and simplified forecasting methods across the organization. Analyze results from a global level and challenge business segments on forecast updates and inconsistencies.
- Lead the forecasting process for Global P&L items including global cost optimization programs, global incentive compensation, foreign exchange, and corporate contingencies.
- Support Investor Relations in quarterly earnings cycles by providing clear analytics on drivers impacting our business and framing our story in a meaningful way to investors.
- Lead & run annual and quarterly global finance processes including budget rate restatements, management budget transfers, product and business hierarchy changes etc.
- Responsible for preparation and first line review of all quarterly/monthly Board of Directors materials including Finance & Operational updates and other forecast cyclical updates.
- Support M&A transactions ad hoc and lead the guidance/integration of M&A and Divestiture transactions in quarterly forecasts.
- Gather feedback from finance community and implement live and continuous feedback to Global Finance processes to simplify, streamline and improve accuracy in our results.
- Interact directly with the VP of FP&A and Segment CFOs as needed to provide strategic guidance and ensure the sum of parts can fabricate the desired Total Baxter result.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or country equivalent). MBA/CPA preferred.
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Change agent with ability to effectively manage and drive impactful change across multiple geographies and functions
- Ability to lead and operate in a team-oriented environment and influence cross-functional partners
- Strong process mentality and shown success in leading business initiatives to deliver large scale process improvements
- Strong technical and financial knowledge, including understanding of internal control requirements and accounting principles as well as understanding of relevant business environment
- Strong ownership mentality; maintains focus on driving projects to completion and delivering output/results
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks concurrently; owns career and is accountable for managing own development
- Strong financial and business acumen; familiar with financial systems and various aspects of financial reporting
- 80/20 work approach, ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple ongoing projects
- Ability to distill insights from complex analyses and build concise and compelling presentations to senior leadership audience
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
