Specific responsibilities include creating aerodynamic designs of Fan and Compressor components for aircraft gas turbines that meet aggressive design cycle time and component performance targets. Opportunities exist to work on a wide range of products and technical initiatives, including three-dimensional flow analysis, subsonic and supersonic airfoil designs, and compressor stability enhancements. This position is located in Middletown, CT.
This position in the Aerodynamics organization will be part of the Engineering Development Program at Pratt & Whitney. The Engineering Development Program, or EDP, is a multi-year program for new College hires that has been implemented to: 1) accelerate technical capability through substantive work rotations focused in specific disciplines; and 2) connect EDP participants with a network of technical resources & engineering experts. The EDP offers new employees the opportunity to rotate through assignments in the organization that provide focused classroom training & technical work experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
* Performing compressor aerodynamic analysis
* Design of compressor aerodynamic features including airfoil and flowpath shapes
* Review and analysis of engine test data
* Supporting closure of key technical issues
* Working in teams with other engineers to improve technical capability
Experience/Qualifications
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and trending skills.
* Focus on results and the ability to drive tasks to completion.
* BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering discipline is required.
* Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
Location is in Middletown, CT.
U.S. Citizenship required.

This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.
Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.
Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree. Limited to some knowledge of RTX organization.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by
local laws/regulations.
