Microsoft’s Azure Data engineering team is leading the transformation of analytics in the world of data with products like databases, data integration, big data analytics, messaging & real-time analytics, and business intelligence. The products our portfolio include Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Service Bus, Azure Event Grid, and Power BI. Within Azure Data, the databases team builds and maintains Microsoft's operational Database systems. We store and manage data in a structured way to enable multitude of applications across various industries. We are on a journey to enable developer friendly, mission-critical, AI enabled operational Databases across relational, non-relational and open-source software (OSS) offerings.
We are hiring a Principal Software Engineering Manager to join the Azure PostgreSQL team, where you will lead a team working on one or more areas of a large-scale cloud database service such as continuous availability, transaction logging and recovery, clustering, scalable storage systems, read and write performance. You will have the opportunity to contribute to open-source PostgreSQL and Linux, and\or develop extensions.

Responsibilities
- Guides teams and leads identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform. Enables cross team communications and resolves conflicts between teams.
- Guides team within and across teams in producing extensible, and maintainable code. Identifies best practices and coding patterns and provides deep expertise on the coding and validation strategy.
- Guides team in creating clear and articulated plan for testing, and defines success for test outcomes. Leads and guides efforts to augment test cases and ensure the solutions have good test coverage.
- Guides team and leads efforts to ensure the correct processes are followed to achieve a high degree of security, privacy, safety, and accessibility across solutions and teams.
