Senior Systems Engineer

ECS is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to work in our Washington, DC office.  

The Opportunity:

As an experienced professional, you know that innovative technologies offer a range of applications that may influence future military and civilian capabilities. We are looking for someone like you to help a Defense client identify early-stage research with the potential to accelerate innovative solutions to complex DoD challenges. The Senior Systems Engineer shall be responsible for supervising operations and maintenance activities for data communications networks and complex, multi-tier operational environments. Should the Army elect to move ATRRS to the cloud, the Senior Systems Engineer shall be responsible for overseeing the process, referred to as migration; maintaining the new system; and implementing, supporting, maintaining, and optimizing the network hardware, software, and communications links of the ATRRS cloud infrastructure.
The Senior Systems Engineer shall have, at a minimum, 5 years of experience in the following:
 An environment similar to ATRRS in terms of size and complexity.
 Conducting protocol analysis, along with demonstrated knowledge of LAN and WAN data communications protocols (TCP/IP, ATM, frame relay, X.400, and X.500).
 Planning and performing fault management, configuration control, change management, and performance monitoring.
 Engineering, implementing and documenting solutions based upon customer requirements, development team feedback and best practices that meet or exceed customer performance expectations.
 Conducting activation, back-up, deactivation, and restart of network and system resources/services.
 Providing support in relation to troubleshooting communication devices, hardware and software, LAN/MAN/WAN and other network related problems, as well as security incidents.
 Performing and supervising general data network and systems administration, and providing technical leadership in the integration and testing of complex, large scale networks and multi-tier operational environments.
 Scheduling network conversions and cutovers.
 Scheduling operational environment improvements.
 Supervising maintenance of all operational environment activities (e.g., Communications, Storage, Security, HW, and SW).
 Coordinating with users, technical teams, and senior management throughout all network sites.
 Designing, planning, managing, maintaining, supporting, and performing any other technological duties associated with an organization's cloud computing environment.

Salary Range: $100,000-$130,000
