Position Overview
The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse I for the Ludeman Developmental Center located in Park Forest, Illinois to perform a variety of practical nursing functions on an assigned shift on an assigned unit. Provides direct nursing care based on an individual’s nursing plan of care. Assists with the admission, transfer, and discharge of individuals. Administers medication and assists in the maintenance of clinical records.
Essential Functions

Performs a variety of practical nursing functions on an assigned shift on an assigned unit.

Assists physician/registered nurse with physical exams or other treatments.

Transcribes physician orders, administers medication, documents medication administration, observes and reports/records individual responses to medication administered.

Implements interventions, including steps in progressive limit setting e.g. verbal redirection, timeout, seclusion, and restraints.

Attends mandatory training and in-service training/workshops in order to facilitate the development and refinement of therapeutic skills.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires Illinois license as a practical nurse.
