MAJOR FUNCTION:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) reports directly to the Vice President of Nursing and is responsible for all nursing clinical operations and the delivery of health care that meets the emerging need for value (cost, quality, and service) and in keeping with Inspira’s Mission, Vision and Values. This position requires an effective, productive, and collaborative working relationship with providers, operational leaders, and other departments across the network. The AVP will foster an environment of professional involvement, excellence, inclusiveness and promote an atmosphere of teamwork and collaboration. As a licensed registered professional nurse, this individual will provide leadership and management of specific responsibilities through the application of advanced competencies in communication, job knowledge, professionalism, and business skills. This position provides leadership and creates an environment of a culture of safety by being an active listener, excellent communicator, and role model; influencing the culture of a High Reliability Organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience:
- BSN required.
- Master’s Degree Preferred/completion within 3 years.
- Minimum 7 years of leadership experience, in complex healthcare organization with demonstrated success in quality, clinical improvement and patient safety efforts.
- Experience in operations management including leading and participating in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives.
- A proven track record for overseeing and positively impacting clinical improvement efforts, with an understanding of its business and financial considerations.
- Experience in, and sensitivity to, the unique dynamics of an integrated hospital system.
- Demonstrated leadership role in working with a broad base of organizational customers.
- Demonstrated skills in planning, organizing, decision making, analytical thinking, financial management and communication required.
- Demonstrated skills in Quality Improvement and operational improvement.
- Skilled written and oral communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills, comfort dealing with conflict and staff challenges, self-confidence and drive with an ability to establish direction and work.
Certification/ Licensure:
- Registered Professional Nurse required.
- Professional certification preferred/obtain within 1 year of hire.
