Procurement Manager
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
The ideal candidate will lead the Procurement Activities for a large Capital Projects (more than $500MM). This will include negotiating and executing Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) packages, Construction Service Packages and Permanent Plant Material Packages. Most packages will be valued over $1 Million, with extended execution durations of over 1 year; in addition, suppliers and OEMs will be global in nature.
The Basics:
- Bachelors degree in an Engineering, Business, Analytics or Technical discipline, or a combination of education and experience
- 15+ years demonstrated experience supporting large Capital Projects in a Procurement Role; 5+ years as the Procurement Lead or Manager
- Extensive knowledge of large OEM procurement contracts and the contract management of these contracts ($50-100MM range; multi-year execution). This includes payment terms, performance bonds/irrevocable letters of credit, liquidated and actual damage clauses and international shipping and logistics terms.
- Extensive knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, negotiations, and the contract management of Construction Service contracts. This should include EPCM, EPC, Engineering Services and General Contractor contracts. This experience should also include Time & Material, Cost Reimbursable and Fixed Fee / Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) contracts. These contracts should be in the $50-100MM value range (or greater & multi-year execution phases).
- Extensive knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, negotiations, and the contract management of Construction Permanent Plant Materials (PPM) contracts. This experience should include electrical, mechanical, piping, structural steel and concrete / reinforcing bar contracts. Knowledge and experience should include domestic and international suppliers; with a focus on US based suppliers where possible. These contracts could be the in $5-30MM value typically or can be significantly greater & multi-year execution phases.
- Excellent communication skills, including reporting on Procurement progress to C-Level executives as part of the Project Reporting Process.
- Experience managing an EPC, EPCM or similar Procurement Teams.
- Experience with working on large Capital Projects, specifically in the Metals or Heavy Industrial space.
- Ability to work with and/or lead people to achieve positive results; Ability to fill in for Project Manager at various meetings
