About the role

As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will play a key role in developing complex web applications that leverage the full potential of modern browsers. You will utilize your expertise in browser internals to optimize performance, ensure compatibility, and drive innovation in our web development efforts.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Develop High-Performance Web Applications: Design, develop, and optimize complex web applications that take advantage of modern browser features and capabilities.
  • Browser Internals Expertise: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of browser internals, including:
    • Rendering engines (e.g., Blink, Gecko)
    • JavaScript engines (e.g., V8, SpiderMonkey)
    • Web platform APIs (e.g., DOM, CSSOM, WebGL)
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize web application performance using tools like WebPageTest, Lighthouse, and Chrome DevTools.
  • Cross-Browser Compatibility:  Ensure that web applications are compatible with multiple browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Internet Explorer.
  • Code Quality and Best Practices: Develop high-quality, maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with other developers, designers, and stakeholders to share knowledge, expertise, and best practices.

 

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in software development or equivalent experience
  • Comfortable in complex code and development environments – particularly in JavaScript
  • Good fundamental knowledge of Cloud-based computing
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
