Warehouse Specialist

Reports to the Warehouse Manager

Hours: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Job Overview: A full-time warehouse specialist is responsible for assisting the production team to safely and properly receive, check, build/produce, stage and load all materials and products so that they are ready for installation on time without issues. This role includes hands-on woodworking — building drawer boxes and panel components to spec — as well as early-morning receiving and truck loading/unloading before the rest of the shop's schedule begins. They also assist with stock/inventory management, organization of all product inventory, cleanliness and organization of tools, equipment, and workspace in the shop/warehouse. To be successful in this position, this individual must be detail-oriented, process and task oriented and able to use systems. Proactive communication with team members regarding status updates and issues is also required. A warehouse specialist may have a specific set of responsibilities or specialization amongst the list of activities but must be trained and capable of completing any warehouse tasks due to peaks and valleys in workload, staffing etc.

Responsibilities and Duties
Work for the warehouse team under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, and Production Manager to make sure jobs are prepped in priority order and in a timely manner. This individual will:

•          Carefully read, review, and clarify parts lists, cut lists, and contracts in a detailed and thoughtful manner.

•          Arrive early to help receive, unload, and stage incoming trucks and deliveries first thing each morning, ahead of the day's production start.

•          Receive material/products, checking it against the Bill of Lading & inspecting parts and quality. This includes melamine/wood products/pallets, hardware, accessories, flooring product, general installation supplies and all other deliveries.

•          Receive returns of material/products, and organize/re-stock returns using the companies inventory system.

•          Build drawer boxes and other components using shop machinery and proper joinery techniques, following spec sheets for size, material, and hardware.

•          Unload, inspect, prep and/or build panel and shelving components, cabinets & accessories/hardware for jobs.

•          Safely drive the forklift to receive and move palletized jobs on/off racking. Forklift Certification is ideal.

•          Care for the warehouse, tools, and equipment to keep everything clean and orderly on a daily basis, i.e. garbage/refuse taken to the dumpster daily, warehouse left orderly and swept/clean on a daily basis.

•          Consistently follow processes, track status of work, and raise issues using systems, in a timely and thorough manner.

•          Work with the team to stage and load all product and materials for jobs.

•          Assist clients picking up product or rolling racks; track and communicate these activities.

•          Follow communication protocols such as asking clarifying question
