Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and caring Cook to join our daycare team. The ideal candidate will enjoy preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and serve daily meals and snacks that meet state childcare nutritional guidelines
- Follow allergy restrictions and dietary needs for individual children
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and food storage area
- Keep accurate records of menus, food inventory, and meal counts
- Order and organize food supplies as needed
- Support the overall daycare team by ensuring mealtimes are positive and smooth for children
- · Assist in classrooms during staff lunch breaks or as needed.
- Support special events or celebrations with food preparation and service.
- Previous experience cooking in a childcare, school, or food service setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices (Food Handler’s Certificate is required)
- Ability to follow dietary restrictions and prepare child-friendly meals
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Friendly, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
