Description Overview

 

The Sr. Manager Quality (Continuous Improvement) is responsible for continuous evaluation and improvement of key quality processes for Perrigo Nutrition, from product development through manufacturing and final distribution. This position plays a critical leadership role in driving transformational initiatives across Perrigo Nutrition. It champions a culture of excellence through quality systems enhancement, cross-functional collaboration, and innovation. All while ensuring compliance with the infant formula food safety standards and Perrigo Quality Management System.

Scope of the Role

 

Identify the types of decisions that this job has the authority to make on its own as well as those that must be referred to others.  In both cases, include authority for decisions regarding issues of policy and procedure, administrative matters, and personnel (hiring, firing, salary increases, etc.).

 

  • Strengthen the CAPA program within Perrigo Nutrition by enhancing governance, streamlining execution, and driving timely, effective resolution of corrective and preventive actions across all sites.
  • Support root cause analysis investigation for high impact quality issues.
  • Consolidate executive level reporting for Perrigo Nutrition to ensure clear, consistent, and actionable insights that support strategic decision-making and quality performance monitoring.
  • Support quality preparation programs for the sites to ensure good outcome during external and regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Be the quality representative for new product projects, coordinating information within the quality department and being the quality face in the project.
  • Support Operations continuous improvement initiatives by being the coordinator of Quality efforts.
  • Assess and enhance existing quality programs to improve their effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and continuous improvement standards.
  • Serve as the Quality representative in the design and development of new production lines, being the champion of hygienic design to ensure compliance and product integrity.
  • Contribute to the development of the Quality Master Plan by providing strategic input, aligning quality initiatives with organizational goals, and supporting cross-functional collaboration.
  • Adjust or change current quality management systems.
  • Audit quality systems at manufacturing sites.
  • Decision maker for the stage gate new product development process.
  • Specify the support to Operations for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Train or coordinate continuous improvement training for Quality Staff.
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives for the Quality area.
  • Escalated events with potential market implications.
  • Capital investment at the sites related to materials/finished product movements.

Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely allied field.
  • Ten plus years of progressive quality and/or operational leadership experience in highly regulated food (i.e. Infant Nutrition or Nutritional Supplements) or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Must possess solid knowledge of continuous improvement techniques. Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, quality management system, ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 or SQF, audit management, and regulations governing food manufacturing quality practices.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, including well-developed people skills and strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop and manage both internal and external relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, including management, supply chain, technical services, site operations, site quality, project managers and suppliers.
