About the role

Salary range is $78K to $170K with a midpoint of $118K. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

GENERAL PURPOSE: 

Reporting to the Deputy Director– Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and under general direction, the DEI Program Manager is equal parts strategist and executor. Able to seamlessly flow between innovating and developing strategy to ensuring successful implementation of department initiatives. The DEI Program Manager will be responsible for the development, management, and implementation of programs & initiatives that support the implementation of Sound Transit’s Anti-Racism Strategy and will provide consultative support to project, teams, and agencywide initiatives. Successful candidates will have substantial experience leading and collaborating across teams in order to operationalize equity within complex organizational structures. They hold equity and anti-racism as core personal and professional values as well as the lens through which they view this work.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following duties are a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

  • Designs, manages, and implements agencywide programs and initiatives that advance Sound Transit’s Anti-Racist Strategy. These may include but are not limited to equity tools, Change Agent Program, community healing, internal and external equity advisory committees, racial equity action plans, racial equity audit, and more. 
  • Develops infrastructure and resources to operationalize equity across the agency. 
  • Develops and manages system(s) to benchmark, track, and measure the lifespan and progress of programs and initiatives. 
  • Provides consultation and strategic coaching to cross-disciplinary teams, departments, work groups, programs, and initiatives. 
  • Supports the implementation of the Anti-Racist Strategy. 
  • Continuously evaluates programs and initiatives to ensure they are meeting the agency’s goals. 
  • May lead and/or support special projects. 
  • Champions and models Sound Transit's core values and demonstrates values-based behaviors in everyday interactions across the agency.
  • Contributes to a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion in alignment with Sound Transit’s Equity & Inclusion Policy.
