Job Purpose and Impact

The Terminal Operations Manager will provide strategic operational oversight for all production and operating processes for the Chattanooga, TN facility, an integral site serving many customers with Cargill sweeteners. In this role you will support the operations team receiving rail deliveries from the Cargill supply chain network, then process and ship to our customers in the food and beverage industry. You will oversee safety, quality, operational effectiveness and financial performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure implementation and compliance of operating and regulatory procedures for employee health and safety, food safety, and environmental programs.
  • Champion a collaborative culture with your site team and cross-functional teams. Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions. Ensure customer product and quality standard requirements meet specifications.
  • Implement operational efficiency improvements which may include standardization of plant information manufacturing systems, control systems, quality control, safety, production, reliability excellence, maintenance and operator’s best practices.
  • Establish and deploy operational priorities by planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned to organizational goals.
  • Lead, direct and control capital spending, project management and operation budgets to achieve financial performance objectives.
  • Ensure and hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and established targets.
  • Lead and develop a team, coach and make decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions. 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR in lieu of a degree, equivalent experience
  • Minimum of four years of related work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience in food-grade manufacturing
  • Experience in supply chain or logistics
