Senior Writer

This role is HYBRID, on-site 3 days a week at our Chicago or Northboork, IL Office.

In this role, you’ll articulate our expertise and clarify our leading role in steering more than 80,000 customers and countless more consumers toward a safer, more secure and sustainable world. 

As part of a team of seasoned writers, you’ll lead content creation that supports organizational goals around brand awareness and positioning. You’ll collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders to craft pitch decks, playbooks, ads, social content and more. Plus, you’ll be a key player in maintaining the brand across the organization.

Job responsibilities

• Take the lead in content development according to defined processes, standards and guidelines and drive the end-to-end development process for all planned content
• Communicate messaging strategy with stakeholders
• Provide continuous education and direction on messaging strategy
• Actively research relevant content topics through internal and external sources
• Help provide guidance and support to team members
• Publish content on marketing platforms
• Update content production calendar

What makes you a great fit

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related disciplines
• At least five years of related experience or demonstrated competency
• At least five years of experience writing for the voice (broadcasting, speeches, instructional videos or advertising)
• Knowledge of Associated Press style guidelines

Minimum skills preferred

• Impeccable grasp of the English language and writing language skills. Content needs to be grammatically correct, logically flowing and engaging to readers
• Attention to detail as all copy must be error-free
• Outstanding verbal communication skill that enables collaboration with clients and work colleagues
• Ability to solicit and act on feedback to create appropriate content
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Solid technical skills, including digital media and technology involved in copywriting
• Ability to think creatively
• Outstanding research skills that enable writers to find and cite information from reputable and expert sources
• Ability to take the lead in planning and executing complex projects
