Job Description

Bosch is dedicated to providing high quality products to our customers. Our supply base is an integral part in meeting this objective. As a Supplier Quality Engineer your role will be to lead supplier quality movement and development activities across a global supply base to achieve our stated quality objectives. Direct communication internal to Bosch and with our suppliers is essential to achieving the objective. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with locations in North America, Europe and China to assist and confirm implementation of Bosch quality system requirements.
  • Support and lead supplier related quality projects to assist our Minnesota and other North America locations.
  • Evaluate potential suppliers through on-site visits/audits.
  • Improve supplier capabilities prior to product launch and develop suppliers post product launch, including product audits.
  • Conduct supplier audits to confirm implemented Corrective Action plans, quality systems, overall operations and work with suppliers to minimize and/or eliminate quality/performance issues.
  • Work with suppliers to assure “zero defect” performance through root cause corrective actions using tools such as 8D, control plans and design reviews.
  • Review and approve Purchased Parts and Service Release Process (PPA).
  • Participate in continual improvement programs and activities to support the achievement of department KPI’s.
  • Track all supplier related costs associated with poor quality and/or service; summarize these costs and work with suppliers to eliminate issues.
  • Evaluate and approve sources ensuring products meet technical and product safety compliance standards such as California Prop 65, ROHS/REACH, CE, and UL.
  • Support Engineering Change Management
  • Work with suppliers on complaint management thru root cause, corrective actions using tools such as 8D, concession, control plans and design reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of quality experience in the automotive, industrial, aerospace or medical devices industry within a manufacturing environment.
  • Will consider Master’s degree and 1 years of experience. 
  • ASQ and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certifications preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Must know GD&T, fixturing, gaging and measurement system analysis.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001 and VDA6.3 quality management systems.
  • Proficient in SAP preferred.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office.
  • Six Sigma/Process Excellence tools, Shainin, training and/or certification is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 10-20%
