About the role

Responsible for the efficient and orderly registration of inpatients and outpatients in the Emergency Department.  Ensures that accurate patient information is collected in a prompt and courteous manner.

Required Qualifications: 

  • Coursework/Training: Knowledge of medical terminology obtained college coursework or equivalent educ/experience
  • 1 year of experience in customer service or healthcare registration.
  • Healthcare experience, in either a provider or payor site.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training: Satisfactory completion of college level Medical Terminology or Medical Assistant course.
  • National Certification of CHAA upon hire.
  • Registrar and third party payor experience.
  • Experience with State, Federal and other regulatory Compliance Regulations, including:  Medicare Secondary Payor, EMTALA, and ABN.

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
