Job Summary:The OCWI Investigative Analysts complete research assignments and disseminates information to authorized personnel from closed and open sources. The Analyst serves as Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Assistant System Security Officer(s) (ASSO) for DCS & OCWI. This position serves as a subject matter expect in the area of closed and open-source research, analysis, and information dissemination. This position also serves as a subject matter expect in the area of the access, use, dissemination, and training of the Arizona Criminal Justice Information System.
Job Duties:- Researches, compiles, processes, and analyzes investigative information obtained using various local, state, and federal databases, as well as open-source and third party paid resources, for the purpose of generating investigative leads. Disseminates leads to authorized recipients with a right-to know & a need-to-know in compliance with DCS, locate, state, and federal laws, policies, and procedures.
- Serves as DCS & OCWI Arizona Criminal Justice Information System (ACJIS) Assistant System Security Officer (ASSO). ASSO's maintain compliance with the laws & policies governing ACJIS access, maintain & send authorized personnel lists, deliver training, assist with internal & external audits, monitor for unauthorized access of the ACJIS, and complete background checks.
- Creates visual representations of investigative information by preparing analytical Products (i.e. Timelines, Association Charts, and Maps) for the purpose of investigations, court proceedings, law enforcement partners, and other meetings.
- Collaborates with law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies; attend meetings; provide briefings to OCWI Chief, OCWI Analyst Manager, & OCWI Analyst Assistant Manager.
- Stays up to date on technological changes, research & analytical techniques, and other relevant areas to ensure the OCWI Analyst Unit is using up-to-date resources, technologies, and techniques.
- Other duties as assigned as related to the position.
Knowledge of:
