Your new responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Senior Specialist, Equipment Engineering Technician, plays a crucial role in optimizing and upgrading equipment utilized in manufacturing processes. The primary focus of this individual will be supporting the Equipment Engineering team; more specifically, but not limited to, the equipment utilized for platelet testing and sorting. They will work closely with engineers to ensure operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards in addition to assisting with upgrades, improvements, and the setup and qualification of new equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to engineers to complete projects and, as needed, support production goals.
- Equipment and software Improvements: Collaborate with the Equipment Engineering Team to test and install equipment upgrades and related software.
- Documentation: Assist in the development of operating procedures and standards. Assist in the determination of the requirements for preventative maintenance cycles and the identification of recommended spare parts.
- Data Analysis: Conduct studies to evaluate and/or qualify new processes, enhancements or changes in equipment operation. Assist in the initial calibration and GR & R studies for new equipment prior to the release to production.
- Equipment Management: Suggest or implement equipment purchases, modifications, or calibration changes to improve productivity or reduce costs.
- Troubleshooting: Maintain a role as equipment expert in order to assist the maintenance team with repair efforts of a complex nature. This may include occasional off-shift phone support to the production maintenance team.
What we look for
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalency through experience with the same or similar equipment and related software of a minimum of five years.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in various software and tools used for data collection and analysis; ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety protocols and government regulations to ensure compliance.
- Communication: Strong communication skills.
The ideal candidate should be able to excel in a fast-paced environment while maintaining the ability to focus on critically important singular tasks or effectively manage multiple smaller tasks within a day’s work. Teamwork and the ability to collaborate with all levels of the organization are important aspects for success in this role.
