About the role

Summary

Seeking pediatric cardiologist to lead our team of pediatric cardiologists primarily based at our Woodlands Campus location. The successful candidate will be hired at an Associate Professor or Professor rank. Requirements include 3 years of fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology, advanced 4th year of training is welcomed, and a minimum of 5 years of practice in Pediatric Cardiology after completion of required training. The successful candidates must be Board certified in Pediatric Cardiology.

 

Leadership skills desired include strategic and critical thinking, excellent interpersonal communication, open-mindedness, patience, and openness. As part of the clinical service, the cardiologist will be involved in the management and care of all inpatients and outpatients at the Woodlands Campus facility.  They will also be a team member of the larger Texas Children's Hospital Cardiology team.  They will staff inpatient consultations and cardiology patients, and outpatient clinics.  They will be involved in the interpretation of hospital associated imaging studies, depending on expertise. 

 

There will be an opportunity to engage with the team at large at the Texas Children's Heart Center for quality, research and education endeavors, leading advancements in these areas in the Woodlands Campus. In addition to the clinical responsibilities, the expectation is that the cardiologist will also lead engaging the community in the Woodlands and surrounding areas at large for advocacy and education.  Relationship building with referring providers and community physicians will be paramount, fostering a culture to be exercised by all team members.
