Sr Trade Compliance Analyst – US & Canada

About the role

Responsibilities

  • Determine applicability of CN 301, Steel 232 and AD/CVD programs on PSBP products
  • Develop and implement best practices for tracking and reporting import costs
  • Maintain import cost matrices of applicable import costs and preferential trade programs
  • Complete required post entry correction, cost-savings activities, e.g., duty drawback and post summary corrections
  • Assignment of HTSUS to new product families and kits
  • Determine country of origin towards proper labelling and applicability of preferential trade agreements, e.g., USMCA
  • Determine and implement compliance improvement plans to reduce risk and delivery times
  • Compose or update existing processes and procedures to reflect changes in sourcing and operations
  • Participate in due diligence reviews of new product introductions, new sourcing initiatives and provide proper tariff classification and applicable duty, tariff costs
  • Monitor and evaluate customs broker performance using KPI’s and conduct quarterly reviews improve reporting, visibility, and accuracy
  • Support US Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) application, activation, and operational ramp-up
Qualifications

Desired Background

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or associated discipline.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or Oracle
  • 4-6 years of experience in trade compliance and/or international logistics.
  • Knowledge of Canadian drawback process 
  • Working knowledge and understanding of US Trade laws and regulations including those administered by CBP, EAR and US Census
  • Ability to interpret government regulations and apply to business’ import and export activities
  • A highly motivated individual with strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and project management skills and proven problem solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to clearly convey relevant information across functions and levels
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills that support root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Ability to acquire new skills and conduct research independently.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
