The Student Intern provides strategic administrative and operational support directly to the Office of the VP for Research Operations. This role focuses on executing high-priority special projects and contributing to critical institutional initiatives that advance the university's research mission. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Support: Assist in planning, tracking, and executing special operational projects assigned by leadership.
  • Data Analysis: Gather, organize, and analyze data to help draft institutional reports and presentations.
  • Research & Benchmarking: Conduct background research on higher education trends and research administration best practices.
  • Operational Assistance: Support committee meetings by preparing agendas, taking detailed minutes, and tracking action items.
  • Communications: Help draft internal memos, newsletters, and digital content regarding new research initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace.
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

The hiring range is based on market pay structures, with individual salaries determined by factors such as business needs, market conditions, internal equity, and based on the candidate’s relevant experience, skills and qualifications.

For union positions, the pay range is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
