Who are we hiring?

 The Senior Director People Practices is responsible for all aspects of the People Partners function supporting various MSG business units. This position works closely with the VP People Practices providing results-oriented leadership, strategic counsel and best practices to the management team and employee groups of these groups. The Senior Director partners with functional leaders of People Practices to develop and execute Human Resources strategies and goals that align with the needs of the business. This role also focuses on process improvement across People Practices as we continue to implement new systems.

What will you do? 

  • Deliver result-oriented leadership through best practices and processes that provide necessary strategic execution of People Management plans across a variety of HR disciplines.
  • Act as an advocate for all employees. Responsible for the day-to-day coaching and counseling of department heads/managers, facilitate the progressive discipline process and ensure compliance of company policies, collective bargaining agreements and legal employment regulations.
  • Contribute to business strategies by helping leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, structures, and processes.
  • Actively engage and consult with senior leaders on business initiatives to identify areas of opportunity and solutions to business concerns while serving as an internal executive coach.
  • Support divisional leaders in forecasting and planning their diversified/inclusive talent pipeline requirements which are in line with business strategy and organizational change.
  • Ensure fair and consistent application of company policy and procedures, while promoting a positive employee morale. This includes performance management, interpersonal issues, learning techniques, the issuance of corrective actions, the development of performance improvement plans, conflict resolution and general application of company policy.
  • Participate in projects in varying degrees of complexity and/or with cross functional company-wide impact.

 What do you need to succeed?

  • 12+ years of experience in HR management or related field of work.
  • Capable of thinking through nuanced and complex situations with a reputation for using diplomacy to navigate through sensitive matters.
  • Must be able to deal with all levels of management with a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Technical knowledge of PC skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint are essential.
  • Experience with implementing and introducing new policies and processes to an existing organization.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, organizational and time management skills required.
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills necessary.
  • Adept at maintaining a positive, open, approachable, and professional relationship with a diverse group.
  • Demonstrates integrity, tact, diplomacy and a commitment to company values, and HR principles while ensuring the upmost consistency.
  • Knowledge of HCM Human Resources system preferred.
